The story continues the quest of the teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki, who searches for his father's killer in the mountains of 1980s Guilin, China. Like the previous Shenmue games, it consists of open-world environments interspersed with brawler battles and quick time events, with a day-and-night system, variable weather effects, non-player characters with daily schedules, and various minigames.

You just gave me flashbacks to that cool Shenmue Online trailer (That amusingly teased a more relevant story to the Shenmue plot than Shenmue 3 actually gave us!!!). I want all my Shenmue content in one game, not in separate games.
Battle Rally This is a weird separate arcade game basically.I do recommend this one, but the story DLC is more important. You get some side stories that aren't related to the main story and you get a better reason to play Casino games. Casino DLC This one adds some fun side content to the game.If you're gonna get just one DLC, you should get this one. Story DLC Definitely makes the game feel more complete, cause without this DLC, the main story feels strangely short.So if you're not gonna buy the whole DLC package I recommend the DLC in this order: I enjoyed it and I enjoyed the side stories that were included in the Casino DLC too.įor me the Battle Rally was the worst DLC cause it was just a separate game. I thought that the DLC definitely was worth buying and added enough to the story, but some disagree. Whether or not you should buy the DLC depends on how big of a Shenmue fan you are.
