Your baby´s stomach, bladder and kidneys.Check the amount of amniotic fluid around your baby.Measurements of your baby´s head, thigh bone and abdomen –from this we can give you an estimation of your baby’s weight (although we cannot tell you what baby will weigh at birth).This will depend on how many weeks pregnant you are when you come for the scan but typically may include: Not all abnormalities can be seen on all ultrasound scans so even if a problem has been found earlier in the pregnancy, we cannot guarantee to see it. Usually, this will simply be that you contact your midwife to discuss our findings but on occasions, we may advise that you attend hospital. Most pregnancies develop normally but if we do find a potential problem, we will discuss this with and decide the best management. You will be given a progress report of our findings to take away. The health of you and your baby is our primary concern, so our sonographers will be checking that your baby is developing normally and that there are no obvious or potential problems with the pregnancy. We consider all our baby scans to be diagnostic and never scan just for entertainment.

If you choose a 4D scan and the baby is not in a great position, you will be offered a repeat scan at no extra cost – this free rescan is not included if you book a 3D scan. We DO NOT supply additional copies of the discs so there are NO restrictions on the CD or DVD and you are free to make as many copies at home as you like.įor the best images of your baby we recommend that you arrange an appointment for between 26 weeks and 29 weeks. We will also give you some traditional ultrasound scan pictures. If you choose to have a 4D we will record the best bits of the scan onto DVD. You will receive a CD of your images (both 3D and 4D appointments) which you can then use to reproduce the pictures on your own computer at home. The quality of the pictures is wholly dependent on us being able to see your baby! It also allows time for you to go for a walk to try and persuade your baby to move around if we are getting good pictures of your baby. A truly magical experience!įor a 3D or 4D baby scan appointment we allow approximately 30 -45 minutes (although the scan time may be will be much less) which gives you time to relax, enjoy the experience, ask questions and share this exciting time with friends or relatives. Your baby can even sometimes be seen moving, yawning, sucking its thumb and even smiling. After 30 weeks there is less room for baby to move and so it can be difficult to get nice images.ģD and 4D baby scanning provides amazing three dimensional pictures of your baby on the screen.
